FALL SEASON - Boosting Engineering Science and Technology (BEST) competition

At the beginning of the school year, we compete in the HEARTLAND BEST competition. During this competition we are known as the Oklahoma City Home School Robotics Team. Most of the students are home-schooled, but we welcome students from public and private schools as well.

CHECK OUT OUR 2013 Student designed Website.

SPRING SEASON - OKC FIRST Robotics Competition(FRC)

In the Spring, we compete in the Oklahoma City FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). When we do activities related to FRC we become the Oklahoma County 4-H Robotics Team. Since we are a part of the Oklahoma County 4-H youth organization, there are opportunities to be involved with a wide variety of other activities and benefits as well as robotics.

For Younger Students - FIRST Lego League (FLL)

We have considered re-starting our FLL (FIRST Lego League) team:

Several things have to occur for this to happen. Contact coach Stuart or Larry if interested.

Oklahoma State Fairgrounds, Hobbies, Arts, and Crafts building. Oklahoma City, OK.
Here is a map.
The "Hobbies, Arts, and Crafts" building is just to the east of the space needle".
Note: Sometimes the "Hobbies Arts, and Crafts" building is called the "Creative Arts" building.

Since our 2013 BEST robot and our 2014 FRC robot received a blue ribbon at the Oklahoma COUNTY fair, they will now advance to be judged and displayed at the Oklahoma STATE Fair. Our robots will be in the Hobbies, Arts and Crafts building.

We also get to demonstrate our robot(s) along with the Cleveland County 4-H robot team, on Saturday, September 20. This demonstration will also be in the Hobbies, Arts and Crafts building.
NOTE: This demo occurs the same day as the BEST kickoff in Alva, so when we demo the robots, we need students who are not going to participate in the BEST competition this year.

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) KICKOFF

Wes Watkins Center, Stillwater, OK

As the date gets closer, the USFIRST FRC Kickoff webpage will be updated with more information. There will also be information on how to watch the event remotely.

The 2014 FRC challenge is a heavily guarded secret and will be revealed at the FRC kickoff. Every year, the FRC game committee works hard to come up with a game that is worthy of what has been called "The Super Bowl of Robotics". The competition level of the FRC is very high and a lot of the teams we compete against take this as serious as they would any competitive sport.
